Scheduled Service Offerings
A crucial component of keeping your forklift trucks running properly is a strong Scheduled Maintenance Plan often referred to as PM Service. Breakdowns can happen without notice, but PM services include inspections that help to identify potential problems. If issues are identified before a break down a problem may be prevented, or additional service can be scheduled at a more convenient time period.

Midway Advantage: PM Services do not receive travel or “zone” charges. If a service can be performed while our technician is on-site travel costs are avoided.
Tier 1 PMs, often referred to as a “General” PM on internal combustion units include:
Visual forklift inspection
Safety inspection
Operational checks including
-fuel system
-hydraulic system
-electrical system
Fluid level checks (adjustments as needed)
Oil and oil filter change
Air filter change, or cleaning (as needed)
Lubrication
Minor component adjustments
Clean up with compressed air
Service area clean up
Written inspection with work order provided for your records
Midway Advantage: If our technician has touch-up paint available we will often touch up your counterweight at no additional charge! (touch-ups are only performed with customer approval)
Tier 2 PMs, often referred to as an “Extended” PM include the services of a Tier 1 PM and also include complete tune-ups on IC equipment, or battery/charger inspections on electric equipment.
Tier 3 PMs, are often referred to as an “Annual” PM. Tier 3 PMs are the most intensive PMs offered and they include a thorough servicing of the drive axle, steer axle, brake, hydraulic systems, and complete fluid replacement.
Midway Advantage: Midway offers custom PM and service programs for all desired service levels.
By offering PM intervals and tiered options in the form of advice, not mandatory requirements, we allow you, to make an informed decision on when service is performed. Complete customer satisfaction is our goal and flexible PM plans help us custom tailor our service to fit your unique needs.
Recommended Service Intervals
Tier 1 PM Service intervals will vary, but a commonly accepted practice is to perform the service every 200 – 250 hours.
Tier 2 PM Services are often performed every 6 months or after 1000 hours or usage.
Tier 3 PM Services are often performed annually or after 2000 hours of usage.

Interesting Observations
- A technician that is only “factory trained” may not offer a significant advantage. The training “factory” may only offer programs on one brand. Technicians with experience repairing all forklift brands tend to offer flexibility and the best long-term value.
- Technicians should be qualified by the servicing company on a job-by-job basis. A company’s average years of experience will not help you determine if the technician working on your equipment is qualified for your unique requirements.
